Phädra ist keine unbescholtene Heroine, keine ethische Heldin, sondern eine verliebte Dark Lady, Selbstmörderin und Mörderin. Eine Lügnerin und Intellektuelle, die stolz und verwundet als weibliche/männliche Stimme auf der Bühne mit Platon, Sokrates und den Sophisten debattiert. Ihr philosophischer Diskurs beleuchtet die Fesseln der Misogynie und den Knebel des Patriarchats, die Abgründe des Begehrens und der Macht, aber auch die Gewalt, die in der Sprache haust.

Sechs Monate lang haben die Regisseurinnen, Agnese Grieco und Lucia Chiarla, mit einer Gruppe von ›unbegleiteten‹ minderjährigen Flüchtlingen in einem Bühnenraum über das Thema Identität gesprochen, Improvisationen entwickelt und diskutiert. Krieg, Religion, Verlust, Gewalt, Kapitalismus, Geld, Sexualität, Zukunft und Hoffnungen waren Stichworte bei dieser Arbeit.

Daraus sind eine Dokumentation und eine Reihe von Videoportraits entstanden, Momentaufnahmen aus einem neuen Leben, eingefangen mit der Kamera. Einzelheiten über den Alltag von geflüchteten Jugendlichen, die in Berlin angekommen und jetzt Teil unserer Stadt und Gesellschaft sind.

Behind every name stands a human being. Having arrived in a foreign land, what does one want to communicate to others? How can one and what does one want to tell about oneself?

Over the course of six months, the directors Agnese Grieco and Lucia Chiarla used a studio stage to talk to a group of ‘unaccompanied’ minors, refugees, about the topic of identity and to develop improvisations with them. War, religion, loss, violence, capitalism, money, sexuality, future, and hope were keywords informing this work.

The results are a documentation and a series of video portraits, snap shots from a new life, captured by the camera. Details from the everyday lives of adolescent refugees that have arrived in Berlin and are now part of our city and society.

Manuele Gragnolati, dopo aver insegnato negli Stati Uniti al Dartmouth College, dal 2003 è docente di studi danteschi all’Università di Oxford e Fellow del Somerville College. Vive tra Oxford e Berlino e collabora con l’ICI Berlin, presso cui svolge il ruolo di Associate Director. Ha pubblicato e curato diversi studi su Dante e sulla letteratura e la cultura del Medio Evo e del Novecento. Il suo ultimo libro è Amor che move. Linguaggio del corpo e forma del desiderio in Dante, Pasolini e Morante (il Saggiatore 2013).
